Tainui Secondary Schools Kapa Haka Festival 2025
We successfully led the biggest event of its kind in the Tainui region, engaging 9,000 live attendees and a 73,000 livestream audience. We showcased over 30 live acts and achieved 3.76M views across social media. We launched the Tainui Haka Kai Festival, a new sub-brand that attracted 60 vendors and provided live entertainment alongside streamed kapa haka performances, significantly enhancing the overall festival experience.

Te Ao Haka: Envisioning the Future
As the event management team, we oversaw the Wānanga ā-Motu conference at Tūrangawaewae marae, a partnership between Te Matatini and the Tainui Waka Cultural Trust. This conference-style event, broadcast by Whakaata Māori in collaboration with iwi radio platforms, gathered hundreds of renowned Māori Performing Arts exponents across the nation to explore the future of kapa haka.

Tainui Waka Kapa Haka Festival 2024
Festival Director of the second biggest kapa haka festival held in the Tainui region. The two-day event had over 8000 in attendance, more than 50 vendors in the Marketplace and accumulated over 14 million views on @tainuiwharehaka social media platforms.

Ngaa Paki o Matariki 2023
The third biggest festival of its kind for the Tainui region. With innovative activations fostering inclusivity and kotahitanga, the event embraced the community in a magnificent celebration of Matariki. The festival showcased the cultural excellence of Tainui rangatahi, featuring the Tainui Ngā Manu Kōrero, Kapa Haka Kura Tuarua Competition, Toi Whanake Arts Exhibition, and Rangatahi Hub.

We proudly supported the hosting of Te Matatini o Te Kāhui Maunga at Pukekura Park, New Plymouth, with a particular focus on broadcasting, marketing and innovation. An audience of over 2.5 million enjoyed the broadcast, and social media activations accumulated over 45 million views.

Te Matatini Brand Campaign 2025
Our Principal led a digital brand campaign that achieved unprecedented market penetration by effectively leveraging Influencers (7.5M reels views), Collaborated User-Generated Content (7.6M views), and OOH Platforms (7M impressions), alongside strategic media and partner collaborations. The campaign also generated 1.8M streams for the festival album.

Te Matatini Live Draw
As the Operations Lead for Te Matatini Enterprises, we were responsible for the live and broadcast elements of the Te Matatini o Te Kāhui Maunga 2025 Live Draw. Hosted by Julian Wilcox, this 2-hour long production has received widespread acclaim from the kapa haka community as the best of its kind.

Road to Te Matatini 2024
As Project Managers for 'The Road to Te Matatini,' we successfully executed a campaign that featured the Whakaata Māori broadcast and Te Matatini led social media activations. The broadcast garnered 225,000 TV viewers and 1.4 million online views, while our social media strategy on TikTok and META platforms accumulated over 135 million views.

Kia Kino Nei Hoki
We proudly supported Te Matatini in bringing this trilingual waiata to life, featuring renowned artists Rob Ruha & Ria Hall, and gifting it to New Zealand Rugby at the Bledisloe Cup match in Dunedin. Supported by Pere Wihongi and national kapa haka champions Te Whanau a Apanui, this waiata celebrates Māori Music Month, elevating Te Reo Māori on the world stage.

Te Matatini Ki Te Ao
We orchestrated an online mini web-series, showcasing kapa haka in the global locales of Paris, Hawai'i, Italy, and Rarotonga. This ambitious project demanded the coordination of multiple stakeholders, including artists, kapa, embassies, the City of Paris and production crews. The series garnered over 1,000,000 views, bringing the enchantment of Māori Performing Arts to a global audience.

Our team project managed the innovative rebuild of the Te Matatini App, which achieved over 50,000 downloads and topped both entertainment and overall charts on iOS and Android. This ground-breaking work was recognised with an Aotearoa Matihiko Award 2025 for Māori Digital Excellence.

Haka Translate is a simultaneous multilingual translation service, dedicated to helping non-Māori speakers fully experience the Te Matatini Festival. With our support, the service has evolved from a dual-language offering to a state-of-the-art global multilingual digital service, now accessible through a premium-quality native app. It serviced 504,858 streams at the 2025 Te Matatini Festival.

Demonstrating our agile approach to innovation, we played a crucial role in launching the Te Matatini App in 2023. Seamless collaboration and communication with the developers helped the app garner a record-breaking number of downloads in just five days. After its reconfiguration for Te Mana Kuratahi, it became number one entertainment app.
