The explanation of this picture, the Pīwaiwaka (Fantail) is the outlined bird, the tree is Poohutukawa because, that’s one of the favourite trees of the Pīwaiwaka. The reason why I used this type of sunset is because, this type of sky connects to Ngaa Rangi Tekau Maa Rua (the twelve heavens). The reason why I added Ngaa Rangi Tekau Maa Rua is because we believe that, the Pīwaiwaka is a messenger from Ngaa Rangi Tekau Maa Rua. If the Pīwaiwaka gets close to you, it’s giving you a warning of what’s going to happen in the future and if you’ve seen the Pīwaiwaka, it has twelve feathers on its tail showing the signs of Ngaa Rangi Tekau Maa Rua. So, the Pīwaiwaka has flown to the girl and if you see, up in the sky there’s Matariki.
